Marshal plan for FATA demanded
Peshawar—Tribal Development Network (TDN) has welcomed the Prime Minister Relief Package for the militancy affected areas of NWFP and FATA and called for announcing a special package or marshal plan for the progress and development of the tribal belt. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, president TDN, Nizamullah Dawar said though the package announced by the prime minister is a welcome step, but it was less than expectations and will not prove much helpful in the resolution of the problems of FATA.

Those present on the occasion included Miraj Gul Afridi, Zar Ali Khan Musazai, Samina Afridi and others. He said that FATA has a population of 10 million and very few people had obtained loans for establishing industries. However, the lawlessness created due to terrorism had foiled the setting up of industrial units in FATA and their businesses also failed to grow. They called for announcement of special development package on the pattern of marshal plan for the development of FATA to bring it at par with other developed areas of the province. They also called for introduction of reforms in Frontier Crimes Regulations (FCR) as promised by the government
